Dear Gentle Readers~

 

I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit. As you may know, over the last year or so, I've traveled to Florida, months at a time, to be a caregiver for my dad. My time with him is priceless, and I wouldn't trade anything for the memories created. Against all odds, Dad continues to walk the journey of faith with courage. Though he suffers from an exotic dementia, his recall of Scripture, and His eloquent prayers never cease to bring me to my knees. God continues to shine through him, a man who loves the Lord with all His heart. What a privilege this experience has been. . .

 

After long stretches away from home, I pushed deadlines aside, and watched writing projects derail for a time. I often prayed for guidance as schedules and plans evaporated, and learned to live each day moment to moment. Once home, I'd race to complete submissions, or prepare for a Living Letters® Seminar, and write like thunder to catch up. As work on fiction stalled, and BRIDES, the tender gift book written last summer begged for its polish, I heard God calling me in the quiet. I'd heard the same words whispered in a Trauma Unit seven years before, "Life is a gift. Life is a gift."

 

Days after my birthday in May, I received this message from a reader~
